Overview Join to apply for the Medical Tech Degree PRN role at Wellstar Health System Job Details Seniority level: Entry level Employment type: Full-time Job function: Health Care Provider Industries: Hospitals and Health Care Work Shift Day (United States of America) Responsibilities Under the general supervision of the Supervisors, Manager or Director; performs clinical laboratory testing pursuant to established and approved protocols requiring the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility, maintains equipment and records, performs quality assurance activities related to test performance and may supervise and teach within the laboratory setting. Maintains acceptable accuracy in patient, quality assurance, proficiency, and competency testing. Reports lab data accurately and within established turnaround times and productivity standards. Recognizes the relationship between lab data and clinical findings or expectations. Interprets information from multiple sources and communicates hand-off to team members. Participates in Laboratory Performance Improvement initiatives and cost-efficient work processes. Performs other duties as assigned and maintains current personal training, education and practice of policies and procedures. Core Qualifications Minimum education: Bachelors in Medical Technology or Bachelors in related field. Licenses/Certifications: MT(ASCP) or MT(AMT) or MT(AAB) or MT(HEW) or MLS(ASCP) or MLS(AMT) – all required upon hire unless otherwise stated. Additional licenses/certifications may apply for temporary classification up to 18 months as allowed. Minimum experience: Minimum 1 year of Laboratory experience. Skills: Computer/data entry, ability to use Excel/Word, basic computer operation. Epic experience preferred.
