Job Description

We are Datadog's in-house product experts. The Technical Solutions (TS) team enables Datadog's worldwide growth by educating potential clients and ensuring that existing customers are happy and successful. The Field CISOs are part of the larger Product Solutions Architecture (PSAs) organization and act as technical multipliers who build lasting, trusted relationships, bridging the gap between customer aspirations and our technology roadmap, enabling digital transformation and ensuring sustained growth for both our customers and our organization. Datadog is growing the Technical Solutions (TS) organization by seeking a customer-focused, industry specialized, and results-oriented Field CISO to join our high-growth organization and oversee our GTM technical strategy for the North America region with primary focus on Information Security.

Reports to the Head of Product Solutions Architecture. Partners closely with all Technical Solutions teams (Product Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, Technical Post Sales, Support Engineering) and other internal teams such as Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Global Information Security, Customer Success, Go-To-Market Strategy, Finance, People & Recruiting, and more.

What Youll Do:

  • Leadership : Demonstrate Datadog's platform as well as thought leadership in modern Security and Observability, emphasizing our advanced security solutions, industry best practices, and dedication to providing organizations with superior security posture and management of their at scale environments.
  • Advisory : Be a trusted advisor to Sales leaders as well as customer and prospect CISOs and security executives on security ROI, value realization, and vulnerability analysis. Assist with security opportunity and adoption strategy for individual customers within their vertical of expertise.
  • GTM : Identifies industry-specific security threats and trends and their impact during Customer engagements, feeding the top-of-funnel for Product, GTM, BVA, and Architecture teams. Co-create industry security solutions via collaboration with Product SAs and Product Management.
  • C-Level : Strategically guide CISO/CIO/CTO/CEO-level customer and prospect executives in rationalizing their security adoption journey, investment, and operationalizing of security and observability.
  • Collaboration : Collaborate with Product Solutions Architecture (PSA), Sales, Sales Engineering, and Marketing in providing high-quality security-focused technical resources to a broad audience of practitioners and economic buyers.
  • Presentations : Lead security architecture and design engagements to demonstrate how Datadog meets the security needs of strategic customers. Participate in Executive Brief conversations in Datadogs Executive Briefing Center (EBC) with high-profile customers and prospects about overall security architecture, Security Best Practices, and industry security trends.
  • Hiring : Assist leadership in recruiting and hiring of top talent for the Product Solutions Architecture and Field CTO/CISO teams with a focus on security expertise.

Who You Are:

  • Industry Experience: Strong experience of at least 15+ years with Enterprise Security architecture at scale and ability to map modern security-centric architectures to real-world use cases, coupled with deep knowledge of the security and observability space, cloud and application security, as well as technological shifts in the information security space.
  • Strategic Thinker: Able to think long-term and creatively about a wide variety of security and business challenges.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experienced in interacting and influencing key security stakeholders (VP+ and CISO/CIO/CTO level) in large Enterprise organizations.
  • Technologist: Hands-on technologist with a strong security background who gains credibility and establishes strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Presenter: Excellent customer-facing presentation skills for large audiences, comfortable discussing complex security details as well as with briefing executives or non-technical personas on security topics.
  • Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to link security product functionality to business objectives, security value realization, and ROI.
  • Travel : Able to travel via auto, train or air up to 50% of the time
  • Education : Bachelors degree in engineering or related field, Masters degree preferred
