Position Summary Provide technical expertise in conservation programs to assist Xcel Energy customers in using energy more efficiently. Offer technical guidance and review directly to customers, sales staff, and marketing staff; examine potential applications and recommend solutions. Develop knowledge and expertise in specific technical areas to maximize customer benefits from Xcel Energy conservation products. Essential Responsibilities Provide technical assistance to the Xcel Energy Marketing and Sales organizations. Perform day-to-day engineering in assigned technical areas. Construct analyses in technical-financial models that meet regulatory and corporate guidelines. Develop rapid, rigorous analytical models based on good engineering practice and the guidance of other Technical Consulting staff. Learn job responsibilities, rules, and guidelines from Technical Consultants, Senior Technical Consultants, and Team Lead Technical Consultants for assigned programs. Develop and maintain Xcel Energy's technical knowledge in specific areas such as gas or electric conservation (HVAC, lighting, compressed air, energy-efficient building construction, motors, controls, industrial processing, boilers, furnaces, recommissioning). Serve as a resource in the assigned area. Leverage internal expertise and develop relationships with external networks, including engineering and architectural firms, government agencies, industry associations, and research firms. Acquire and expand knowledge in assigned areas through interactions and learning from these sources. Meet established turnaround time criteria for projects to foster customer participation. Top Skills and Qualifications Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited school Experience in building sciences, energy efficiency, or regulated utilities Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics Proficiency in Excel Familiarity with Salesforce (preferred but trainable) Strong collaboration skills Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders Effective communication skills Problem-solving abilities Ideal Candidate Background and Experience Entry-level; 0-3 years of professional experience preferred Preferred or #J-18808-Ljbffr
