We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This is a long-term contract opportunity within the construction industry, offering a chance to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate will excel in managing invoices, payments, and related financial processes with accuracy and efficiency. AIA billing experience ideal. This is a fully remote opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring all invoices are coded accurately and approved in a timely manner.

• Handle Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments and check runs to ensure smooth and efficient payment operations.

• Maintain organized records of financial transactions and reconcile discrepancies as needed.

• Collaborate with internal departments to verify account coding and resolve any invoice-related issues.

• Monitor payment schedules to ensure compliance with deadlines and avoid late fees.

• Review vendor statements and address any outstanding balances or errors.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures related to accounts payable.

• Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations in all financial processes.

• Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.

• Continuously improve accounts payable processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payment handling.
• Strong knowledge of Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check run procedures.
• Familiarity with account coding and financial reconciliation practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of transactions.
• Proficiency in financial software and systems used for accounts payable.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and vendors.
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks in a high-paced environment.
• Experience in the construction or contractor industry is a plus.
