Classification Salary Range: $3,977 - $7,197 per month

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $5,400 - $$5,600 per month.

The final salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

About the Department/Position:

Under the general supervision of the Vice President, Administration, and Finance/CFO, the Web Content Creator combines contemporary design principles with digital communication theory and best practices to create engaging and effective multimedia content that maximizes the impact of CSUDH’s digital presence and supports the university’s overall strategic Administration and Finance goals. In collaboration with the division Associate Vice Presidents (AVP) and IT, the incumbent primarily will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and updating a wide range of complex multimedia web content for the Division's various Online communications channels, including but not limited to websites, email, and digital signage. The position provides consultation to individual departments across the division and campus to determine communication concepts and design.

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Producing creative, effective, and compelling multimedia content for the web and other digital platforms that highlights and promotes the division's support services, initiatives, and overall mission with respect to the DH campus.
  • Work collaboratively with Administration and Finance division AVPs and IT teams on meaningful and measurable web design that enforces university identity and voice.
  • Work collaboratively with the division's team to create engaging web pages.
  • Apply design techniques appropriate to the medium to effectively meet communications objectives.
  • Utilize project management software (Wrike).

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in web design, digital marketing, digital media, graphic design, illustration, animation, communication arts, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience in digital content and web design.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive graphic design and production principles and communication theory
  • Understanding of marketing and promotion concepts
  • Solid working knowledge of applicable graphic design software packages hardware systems and peripherals
  • Ability to Use interactive technologies and to create new methods for combining software and graphic packages to address communication and visual product goals
  • Collaborate with colleagues and design projects and web-based publishing
  • Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multiple file formats for web applications (text, graphic, audio, animation, video, etc.)
  • Percussion Web Management (CM1) Knowledge
