Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and licensed Transportation Engineer/Roadway Design Engineer (P.E.) to lead the design and delivery of roadway and highway infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in roadway geometry, PS&E development, and multidisciplinary coordination. This role includes project leadership responsibilities and direct client interaction, particularly with state DOTs and municipalities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of roadway and highway projects , including new construction, reconstruction, and rehabilitation.
• Prepare and oversee plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) packages in accordance with TxDOT, and local agency standards.
• Design and review horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway profiles, cross sections, and construction phasing .
• Manage and coordinate with internal teams and subconsultants across disciplines such as traffic, structural, drainage, and environmental.
• Perform and review engineering calculations, quantity take-offs , and cost estimates.
• Ensure QA/QC compliance throughout project lifecycle.
• Participate in client meetings, public hearings, and field visits as needed.
• Support proposal development, project scoping, and budgeting efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas , or ability to obtain within 3 months
• 5+ years of progressive roadway/highway design experience
• Proficiency in MicroStation , OpenRoads Designer , GEOPAK , and/or Civil 3D
• Proven experience developing complete PS&E packages
• Strong technical writing, communication, and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with TxDOT or other state DOTs
