The Opportunity

As a senior member of the Chubb Global Marketing, Communications and Investor Relations Team, and reporting to Chubb’s Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, the SVP, Global Head of Strategic Content & Insights Center of Excellence (CoE) will oversee Chubb’s thought leadership program worldwide. The ideal candidate is an inquisitive storyteller with excellent writing, editing and research skills who is an agile multi-tasker who can switch gears quickly between varieties of B2B and B2C subject matter, complex data and analytics, regional priorities, and content formats with ease and with proficiency. The incumbent has deep experience in story mining, working directly with diverse sets of senior executives and stakeholders and transforming complex financial and business subject matter from around the world and turning it into informative, easy to digest and timely points of view and content and develop content briefs with a thematic edge (e.g. ESG, Sustainability, Climate, DEI, Social Responsibility, Cyber, Food Security, Supply Chain) for our diverse customer segments.

From ideation through publishing and amplification, this individual is skilled and experienced at working across a highly complex and matrixed company to produce strategic content pieces that showcase Chubb’s expertise and knowledge in a wide range of areas. Having worked intimately with research, data and analytics, h/she is able to distill insights into compelling, easy to digest of points of view that help our clients and intermediaries understand and navigate the insurance and risk landscape.

The ideal candidate will work seamlessly with other marketing and communications teammates to prioritize, shape the content, and when appropriate conduct or commission research. The ideal candidate possesses broad experience across the marketing and communications spectrum with a deep understanding of critical value chain capabilities – including media relations, social media, executive and internal communications, and digital marketing and communications – and possesses an intuitive familiarity in understanding how content will be used across emerging digital and traditional platforms, internal and external channels (including news, newsletters, magazines, opinion, broadcast/video, podcasts) while building the reputation and credibility of its authors (Chubb SMEs and influencers) and use by our distribution partners.

The SVP, Strategic Content & Insights CoE will develop and execute Chubb’s content strategy and global thought leadership and research insights program, overseeing the management of an enterprise editorial calendar, developing content best practices, and a high-performing team that delivers measurable, repeatable and scalable results – which will be accomplished through the successful management of a matrixed in-house content program management team and coordinating with teams of external writers, editors, creative services providers and marketing research vendors. H/She will manage an internal content program management and writing/editing team that prioritizes content publishing on chubb.com, ensuring that content is optimized for search engine optimization and ease of search traceability. The SVP will also ensure that the content program management team will coordinate with MarComms team members to communicate and promote content through a variety of earned and paid media efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage direct relationships with senior Chubb corporate, business and regional executives – in partnership with MarComms partners – to ensure delivery of strategic content that builds the Chubb brand and reputation globally.
  • Oversee the production of highly relevant, impactful and differentiated content that drives meaningful engagement with Chubb’s diverse client and customer segments. This includes reports, white papers, research-based articles, blogs entries, social media posts, podcasts, videos, infographics, Chubb.com pages, and other types of compelling, dynamic and innovative intent.
  • Lead story mining sessions with senior executives, subject matter experts and data/research owners to develop and maintain a robust pipeline of strategic content options.
  • Lead the strategic production and distribution process from ideation, writing, copy and line editing and –working with MarComms partners – distribution and amplification on channels including, but not limited to, chubb.com, earned media, social media, internal communications (The Village), direct-to-broker channels and other marketing and communications touchpoints.
  • Oversee the development of data journalism capabilities.
  • Ensure that content is customized and optimized for non-U.S. and non-English language channels.
  • Oversee the maintenance of a global editorial calendar and content development lifecycle to optimize the marketing funnel, striking a balance of topics aligned with business priorities, relevant news and cultural trends, and the interests of our MarComms targets.
  • Develop content briefs that document clear business cases and value for proposed content.
  • Assign and ensure the zero-defect quality of published content – always be in the lead for “owning the content.”
  • Collaborate on and commission research projects and studies that will underpin engaging content features which can be distributed across multiple content channels.
  • Create content that has multiple opportunities for re-use through multiple channels of marketing and communications.
  • Efficiently manage a drive plan and content production through a network of writing and editing freelancers, creative asset agencies, marketing research and survey panel companies while shepherding content between external stakeholders and internal global program management, MarComms partners and Legal and other parties in the review and approval processes.
  • Be familiar with and oversee global program management of publishing and data/analytics tools and emerging capabilities, including Google Analytics, Adobe Experience Manager, strategic SEO, AIO, scalable cloud document management, collaboration tools (e.g., Frontify, SharePoint), smart automation and immersive content practices.
  • Build and monitor a comprehensive content calendar and performance monitoring system that uses data and performance metrics to develop actionable insights and refine content strategies.
  • Actively support the redesign, launch and maintenance of Chubb.com by identifying and filling content gaps on the site at creates a robust thought leadership channel for the communication and consumption of strategic content and research insights.
  • Lead Chubb’s global editorial governance and share best practices with the Chubb content community and its partners.
  • Build relationships with colleagues in the business – especially the MarComms team – to understand audiences, business priorities, and strategies.
  • Create a drive plan for a consistent approach to content and editorial across business lines and assess creating an ‘Editorial Committee’ of senior Chubb business and MarComms leaders that identifies premium white space content opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of leading-edge content best practices by keeping engaged in industry forums and developmental opportunities.
