This new hire will be based at our office in Rogers, AR. The Sales Director will report directly to the VP Sales - Walmart & Club Channel.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sales Director’s primary purpose, on the broader Walmart and Sam’s Club team, is to lead a team of CBM’s, analyst and local cross-functional partners to drive profitable and sustainable growth by delivering superior instore and digital execution, strategic planning and establishing strong customer intimacy. Additionally, the successful candidate will work closely with a broad range of cross-functional partners such as Trade Marketing, Marketing, Revenue Management, Category Management, Omni Channel and Sales Operations to execute key priorities. This individual will foster collaborative relationships with customer leadership in order to drive customer intimacy and strategic partnerships.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve sales, trade spend and profit targets while delivering strong consumption and dollar share growth
  • Provide people development & leadership via coaching and mentoring, PMD process and IDP
  • Lead strategic customer planning and the customer intimacy agenda for Sam’s Club
  • Translate national sales strategies into customer centric plans, including innovation, merchandising programs, digital strategies, and an insights agenda
  • Establish a strong team dynamic by attracting, retaining and developing sales professionals while enabling collaboration with the broader cross functional team
  • Influence cross functional partners to mobilize resources against customer and/or competitive driven needs/ initiatives


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, Marketing, Management or related field. MBA preferred
  • 7+ years experience in CPG Sales, Customer Marketing or Trade Marketing. Food experience preferred
  • 2 years proven success in customer sales leadership roles, including management of direct reports
  • Ability to attract, retain and develop people.
  • Courage to address challenges (business, customer & people) in a positive & productive manner
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Successful & proven negotiation skills with customers that produce productive results for all parties
  • Ability to work effectively with others towards a common goal in a highly dynamic environment
