Accounting/ Payroll Specialist
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Payroll/ Accounting Specialist for a company based in Tampa, FL. This role involves working closely with the Accounting and HR departments to process payroll, prepare financial reports, track budgets, and handle other related tasks.

Pay Rate
$17.00 - $22 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule and Hours

Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Accounting/ Payroll Duties and Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll using Paylocity software.
• Input and validate union-related payroll data, ensuring correct fringe benefits, dues, and compliance with union agreements.
• Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and improve process efficiency.
• Generate financial reports and assist in budget tracking, cost allocations, and variance analysis as needed
• Support accounts payable/receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payment reconciliation and back deposits
• Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and assist with monthly and year-ending closing procedures
• Maintain accurate financial records of all transactions

Accounting/ Payroll Qualifications and Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in payroll processing
• Proficient with Paylocity payroll software.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting
• Strong understanding of job costing and labor allocation principles.
• Familiarity with union payroll requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and multi-state payroll laws.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize projects.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
