Application will not be considered until ALL required documents are received GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION Instruct courses in Health Information Technology as needed. Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual-credit, and/or online courses. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to maintaining office hours, participating in college committees, promoting and supporting the department's mission and goals, extra-curricular activities, participating in professional development activities, working across departments to develop student communication, computation, and problem-solving skills.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical effort-restricted: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.), some walking, pushing and pulling on a regular basis. Work environment: Minimal hazard/exposure: Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
BENEFITS: Part-Time Retirement. Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security (FICA).
QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degreefrom an accredited college or university in Health Informatics, Computer Information Systems, or Health Information Technology
Experience: One year of work experience in Health Information Technology
Certifications: Current RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CDIP, CHDA, or CHPS certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Health Informatics, Computer Information Systems, or Health Information Technology
Experience: One year of work experience in Health Information Technology
Certifications: Current RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CDIP, CHDA, or CHPS certification
