Job Description
Nike is hiring for Software Engineer I, ITC SRE hired will work as an embedded Reliability Engineer within the TechOps: Resilience Engineering team. The candidate will shift between multiple engineering platforms based on project needs, collaborating with engineering leaders, product teams, Scrum/Agile leads, support, and business teams.

This role reports to the Manager of Site Reliability Engineering and involves collaboration across geographies.
Who We Are Looking For
Talented full stack developers with knowledge of datacenter infrastructure and cloud platforms, eager to learn and share knowledge, responsible for team success, and ready to tackle challenging tasks.
Quickly observe, diagnose, and fix production issues
Develop real-time monitoring solutions for site health and KPIs, with experience in tools like SignalFx, CatchPoint, Splunk, or NewRelic
Strong communication skills to articulate issues and their impacts
Ability to report high-value metrics to leadership, understanding the business impact of site reliability
Knowledge of IT service management processes
Work across teams to analyze system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize systems
Experience in managing application reliability for web and mobile platforms
Negotiation and influencing skills
Passion for coaching, mentoring, and continuous learning
What You’ll Work On
The Site Reliability Engineer I will support Nike Digital Experiences, focusing on availability, observability, reliability, security, and performance. Responsibilities include deep problem analysis, defect detection, KPI observability, and collaborating with delivery teams for long-term solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields
1-2 years experience in software development, operations, or support
Strong Java design and development skills
Knowledge of Kubernetes
Experience with languages like Scala, Python, Golang (preferred)
Understanding of DNS, Networking, Virtualization, Linux
Experience designing scalable cloud microservices
Experience with Docker and serverless patterns
Experience with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB or Cassandra
Understanding of RESTful APIs
Familiarity with tools like ServiceNow, Jira, Jenkins, Splunk, New Relic, SignalFx
