General Summary

The Loan Transaction Coordinator originates, processes, and funds consumer loans (auto, personal, credit card, etc.), primarily processing member applications received through the digital or indirect lending channels. A member of the Credit Unions Consumer Lending team, this individual provides exceptional and professional service to borrowers throughout the consumer loan application process.

Responsibilities


  • Originates, processes, and funds consumer loan applications (auto, personal, credit card, etc.) in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Communicates loan program guidelines, rates, terms, and consumer loan process flow to borrowers via phone (inbound status calls and outbound follow up), email, and any other available technology.
  • Coordinates receipt of all necessary loan documentation from borrower(s) for submission to underwriting.
  • Funds and disburses consumer loans in assigned pipelines (including internal and external loan payoffs).
  • Accountable for achieving production goals and service level standards established by senior management, including but not limited to originating/funding consumer loan applications, and cross-selling other credit union products and services when appropriate.
  • Resolves consumer loan quality control stipulations for loans originating through digital or indirect lending channels.
  • Assists with opening new accounts (as needed) in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to work effectively with members, co-workers, management, and vendors. Demonstrates the credit unions core values of Service, Teamwork, Integrity and Responsibility.
  • Keeps well-informed of industry developments including, but not limited to, changes in regulation and technology.
  • Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and banking/credit union regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as required.


Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Some college coursework in a business-related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working in a production environment (loan processing, branch or call center) preferred.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services preferred.
  • Strong desire to achieve production goals.
  • Excellent non-face-to-face communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent email and phone skills required.
  • Familiarity with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must obtain (within 90 days) and maintain State of CT Individual Producer License (Credit Insurance).
