Groups Pastor - Job Description

The role of the Groups Pastor is to lead a team of staff and volunteers toward high quality small group ministry at Central Church. Quality groups will experience Christ, embrace community, and extend the mission of oikos. While walking deeply and intimately with Christ, the Groups Pastor should wake up every day to eat, breathe, and dream about small group ministry.

CORE COMPETENCIES & PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Champion the cause of small group community at Central Church
• Recruit small group leaders to increase the quantity of small groups
• Provide ongoing training for all small group leaders
• Ensure all new groups follow a model of multiplication

• Consistent communication with volunteers and staff
• Must be a good communicator and competent delegator
• Collaborate with Communications team to ensure website is continually updated to reflect open LifeGroups and new LifeGroups
• Coach and oversee staff leading Woven (Womens Ministry), Forged (Mens Ministry), Young Adult ministries, and any new small group ministries that may emerge over time
• Create systems to onboard and equip new small group leaders
• Mobilize, coach, and train a team of small group coaches
• Regular evaluation of staff to ensure ongoing leadership development
• Consistent growth in Centrals humble, hungry, smart model
• Integrate the concepts of ownership and oikos into small groups
• Other duties as assigned

STAFF RELATIONSHIPS

• The Groups Pastor reports to the Associate Execute Pastor of Ministries
• Regular participation in the Strategy and Implementation Team
• Regular participation in the Central Leadership Huddle & regular all-staff meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with Centrals Statement of Faith
• Experience leading small group ministry in a church setting
• High level of problem-solving abilities
• High level of initiative and ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
• Embrace and embody the mission, vision, and staff values of Central
• Ability to collaborate with multiple departments, leaders and volunteers

TIME COMMITMENT

• This is a full time salary position
