Degree Audit Coordinator Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a Degree Audit Coordinator to join the Office of the University Registrar within the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management and the Records and Registration Departments. The coordinator will report to the Assistant Registrar for Degree Audit and will maintain VCU’s degree audit system, enabling students to understand their progress and required courses for graduation. Core Responsibilities Maintenance of Degree Works and Banner SIS through Scribe coding language and systems setting tables (45%) Create and update Scribe coding based on published and approved program curriculum requirements and end‑user feedback. Maintain Degree Works system tables in SureCode related to course and program information, system settings, and user security assignments. Create and maintain internal and institutional forms and spreadsheets with associated security through Google Drive. Graduation Processing, Edits and Student Matriculation Maintenance (40%) Process graduation applications, calculate honors, post degrees, and coordinate diploma distribution. Enter authorized student substitutions, waivers, attributes, or changes to program information (major, minor, catalog, etc.) in Degree Works or Banner SIS in a timely manner. Identify students who have satisfied graduation requirements and provide the credentials that appear on transcripts. Reporting (10%) Assist with development and maintenance of edits and reports, via SAS EG or Transit, to address data accuracy or provide detailed student information to curriculum committees or departmental end‑users. Training Material and Procedural Documentation (5%) Assist with development, maintenance, and communication of ongoing training material for faculty, professional advisers, and students, and generate internal procedural documentation. Be available to provide individual or group training to institutional users for the Degree Works application and its supporting processes as needed. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in management, information systems, mathematics, statistics or a related field and/or equivalent experience or training. Strong analytical and rational deduction abilities. Ability to attend to details with minimal errors and supervision. Demonstrated experience working in an environment that respects, respects professionalism and civility with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU. Preferred Qualifications Experience with a student information system and/or degree audit product such as Banner, CAPP, or Degree Works. Experience with SQL, SAS, or other programming languages.
