We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer SME to lead the integration of robust security practices into the design and development of complex information systems. This role is critical to ensuring cybersecurity requirements are effectively captured, refined, and implemented across IT components and enterprise systems. The successful candidate will play a strategic role in shaping secure systems that support mission-critical operations while working with a team dedicated to cybersecurity excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities:
Lead or assist development teams in designing, upgrading, or modernizing information systems with strong security foundations.
Conduct product research and support Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) to identify the most effective security technologies and approaches.
Contribute to system concept development and align cybersecurity designs with legal, regulatory, and environmental conditions.
Develop and document comprehensive security architectures, technical roadmaps, and investment strategies.
Oversee and mentor a team of Cyber Security Engineers at Senior, Mid, and Junior levels.
Must Have's:
Proven experience architecting and implementing cybersecurity in large-scale systems.
Strong knowledge of system security principles, risk management frameworks, and security controls.
Experience leading technical teams and managing cybersecurity initiatives across the system development lifecycle.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable security designs.
Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM degree program, or 18 years of equivalent Cyber Security Engineer experience.
18 years of working experience in government or industry within Cyber Security Engineering.
DoD 8570 Level II (IASAE) certification compliance.
TS/SCI clearance adjudication or the ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph.
Nice to Have's:
Expert experience leading enterprise-level cybersecurity efforts involving architecting, designing, developing, and configuring cloud and on-premise systems and software.
Experience engineering Cyber Security solutions using Cloud-Based Technologies such as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), On-demand self-service, Broad network access, Resource pooling, Rapid elasticity, Measured Service, SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
Experience engineering Cyber Security solutions using structured and unstructured Big Data.
Experience with Automation, Augmentation, and Artificial Intelligence technologies in Cyber Security.
Preference given to candidates with TS/SCI/Poly clearance; TS/SCI is acceptable.
Salary:
$200,000 – $230,000
