Job Description
LOD is currently seeking contract Legal Assistants for remote and hybrid assignments.
Candidates must be able to commit to a 3+ month assignment. We are currently staffing for multiple teams: these roles can be hybrid/on-site (up to five days per week) or fully remote. Must be within reasonable (~3 hours) traveling distance to Nashville to retrieve/return electronic equipment required for the assignment.
Pay rates will start at $18/hour for entry-level candidates but can range up to $23/hour based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform administrative functions such as scheduling appeals for hearings, routing continuance requests as necessary and preparing technical records for hearings
· Create electronic records of appeal requests
· Arrange for translation services when appropriate
· Maintain attorneys' calendars, hearing calendars and the litigation timetables for attorneys
· Research, review and implement all court orders rendered from an appeal hearing
· Remain current on Medicaid/Medicare eligibility policy and procedures
· May determine eligibility and/or extend Medicaid coverage to match order request
Minimum Qualifications:
· Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited college, university, or professional school with one of the following: Associate’s Degree or 2 years of relevant experience or a combination of the two
· Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
· Ability to exercise sound judgment
· Ability to foster and maintain cohesive working relationships
· Basic organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage workload to meet specific timeframes and deadlines
· Developed writing and communication skills
LOD offers non-attorney flexible talent placement rates that range from $15 to $100 per hour depending upon experience level and specific skills requested by the client, the candidate’s general skill set, applicability of candidate skill set to client need, client budget, number of hours requested, and other factors. A specific rate of pay for a project will be discussed with you if it is determined that you are a potential fit for a role.
